Shadow Dojo

Privacy Policy

In short: Shadow Dojo does not collect personal data for us. The app has no account, no tracking, no analytics tools and no ads. Your save stays on your device – and, if you use it, in your iCloud account with Apple.

1. Controller

Coding Brothers UG (haftungsbeschränkt)

Email: info@codingbrothers.de

Further details are in our imprint.

2. The Shadow Dojo app (iPhone and iPad)

2.1 No data collection of our own

The app does not connect to any Coding Brothers servers. All game content – graphics, music, voices – is included in the app. There is no user account, no sign-up, no analytics or tracking tools, no advertising and no advertising identifiers. We receive no personal data from the app.

2.2 Save and settings on your device

The app stores your progress, settings (such as language, volume, difficulty) and best scores locally on your device. This data does not leave the device – except through iCloud sync (2.4) if it is active for you. Deleting the app deletes this data. You can reset your progress at any time via “New game”.

2.3 Crash diagnostics stay local

So that the start menu can show where an unexpected exit happened, the app remembers the last section played and, if applicable, an error message locally. This information is not transmitted – neither to us nor to anyone else.

2.4 iCloud save (optional, via Apple)

If you are signed in to iCloud with your Apple ID on your device, the app syncs your save between your devices using Apple’s iCloud key-value storage. Only the save (progress and settings) is stored – no contact or device data. Apple handles the transfer and storage in your iCloud account; we have no access to it. You can turn off iCloud for the app in iOS Settings. Apple’s Privacy Policy applies.

2.5 Game Center (optional, via Apple)

If you sign in to Game Center, the app reports unlocked achievements and scores for leaderboards through Apple’s Game Center. Apple processes your Game Center data (such as your player name) according to your Game Center settings; your results may be visible to other players on leaderboards. We do not receive contact details through Game Center. Signing in is optional – you can skip it or turn off Game Center in iOS Settings. Apple’s Privacy Policy applies.

2.6 App Store and purchases

The app is distributed through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles downloads, any purchases and their payment; we do not receive payment details. If you have agreed in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple provides us with aggregated statistics (such as crash reports and usage figures) that do not identify you personally. You control this in iOS Settings under “Privacy & Security” → “Analytics & Improvements”.

2.7 Other device features

The app uses game controllers and vibration (haptics) only locally on the device. It does not request access to location, camera, microphone, contacts or photos. If you share a result through the iOS share sheet, the app creates the image on the device; it is only sent to the destination you choose yourself.

3.1 Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. This is required to deliver the site and keep it secure and stable. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and error-free provision of the website. Logs are kept only as long as necessary for this purpose. We have a data processing agreement with Vercel. For transfers to the USA, Vercel relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

3.3 Contact by email

If you email us, we process your details (email address, content of your message) to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request concerns the app or a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). We delete the data once your request has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

4. Your rights

Where we process personal data about you, you have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). Just write to info@codingbrothers.de.
